The Health eCard is a credit-card sized, ‘smart card’ that allows you to carry a copy of your complete electronic medical records (EMR) with you at all times. The Health eCard represents a revolution in healthcare information technology and the future of personal medical records (PMR). You may be aware that it is your legal right to have access to your medical records and the Health eCard is a great way to achieve this.
Once you have purchased your Health eCard, contact your GP Practice to arrange a convenient time to pop in to download a copy of your records onto your Health eCard. After each GP consultation, you can update your Health eCard at the Surgery to keep your health records current.
To access your medical records, plug your Health eCard into the USB port of any Windows PC (Windows XP or later) anywhere in the world and type in your secure pass phrase. It’s as simple as that!
The Health eCard contains a copy of your complete medical history – GP notes, allergies, drug charts, blood test results, referral letters and correspondence received, (digital imagery such as X-rays, mammograms, MRI and CAT scans can be added after every hospital visit).
You can choose the level of information you require by selecting the Plan that suits your needs:
Plan 1 - Full GP record (as held on your GP's system)

Plan 2 - All elements of Plan 1 plus ability to print correspondence, most screens and import ECGs obtained by you from hospitals /clinics. Secure Patient Diary area

Plan 3 - All features of Plan 2 plus ability to store digital images obtained by you from hospitals /clinics; an integral dicom viewer so the images can be viewed on any PC. Ability to store copies of clinical letters obtained by you.
